Emerson Place Seminar September 19-22 2004 -- Now at a Special Price!

Four day seminar with JAW, Robert Schoch, Robert Bauval & Jean-Paul
Bauval

Reactions to my former notice calling attention to this intriguing but
resolutely upscale event were, without exception, enthusiastic but
everyone was scared off by the price. (Well, I did warn you!)

I realize of course that only a very small percentage of Egyptophiles
have that kind of disposable income, and the few on this list who do,
know who they are. I know, I know ...it's a lot of money, but people who
have it do not think twice about spending that much on a long weekend to
Paris or even New York, stay in a suite at the Plaza, go to the Met or
ballet or top-of-the-line tickets to a Broadway show or two, five-star
meals wherever, pay a visit the Bronx Zoo or the Republican
Convention... And presto! the same amount has been spent. Right? Just
that most people in that income bracket are not used to spending that
much on brain exercise...

Anyway, I've been given a special price for people on my list: $3500
for 2 instead of $5000 and $2000 for a single. (Work it out for
yourself; it's not bad at all! If you're in that sort of income bracket
in the first place, of course. If interested pull up

you.

THE SPHINX LIVES -- JAW ON MSNBC

No sooner do the Quackademics think they've sunk us into the quibblemire
than interest comes from unexpected quarters. I'm pleased to report
that the Technology & Science department at the MSNBC news website has
picked up the story after all these years.

Experience teaches me that dealing with the mainstream media is always
like trying to befriend a tiger by hand-feeding it steaks. One wrong
move and you get your arm chewed off, or just an insatiably hungry
tiger...

In any event, I was pleased by this brief but informative piece, and
think you will be too. If it had appeared on the Fox news site I would
have been obliged to call it 'fair and balanced', which would have
complicated matters, since this would have the been the first time
anyone (outside the Fox network) had ever uttered those words other than
sarcastically. On MSNBC, however, there is no need for further
roundabout explanation. It's well done and concentrates on the matter
immediately to hand -- which is of course to try to generate the money
needed for the interminably postponed geo-panel.
