FROM JOHN ANTHONY WEST

UPCOMING SOON

Friends, Grockles, Egyptophiles,

A (somewhat belated) email to tell you that I will be giving a talk in
Baltimore at the Fortfest, March 25-26 2006

The 41st Annual Fortfest held under the auspices of the Fortean Society,
commemorates and perpetuates the work and spirit of Charles Fort (d.
1932), iconoclast, curmudgeon and gadfly scholar/philosopher who devoted
his life to researching anomalous phenomena contemporary science could
not answer ... and then delighting in rubbing their collective noses in
it.

Today's Forteans carry on that noble tradition. As long as it can be
backed up by something more than fantasy and/or pure speculation nothing
is too outrageous for them. Click on the links below for details of
this upcoming event.

I will be talking about something new for a change: THE EINSTEINS OF
OLD: Modern Science - Ancient Symbolism, introducing important work that
has surfaced over just the last five years or so, demonstrating that the
ancients (not just in Egypt but effectively everywhere) understood in
detail, and expressed in myth and symbol what contemporary science is
just now discovering, exploring and expressing mathematically-
astrophysics, cosmology, the genesis and structure of matter, the fact
and the importance of the precession of the equinoxes, and much else
besides.

FORTFESTS are invariably as lively as they are eclectic. While not
everything on the program is for everybody, for everybody there is
always something, often something special - unusual, original,
thought-provoking.

As an added and major attraction, this particular event will be held (at
last!), not in your standard stodgy hotel or convention hall setting,
but rather in one that perfectly suits the idiosyncratic Fortean
temperament; Baltimore's spectacular, moving and utterly unique American
Visionary Arts Museum. http://www.avam.org/ <http://www.avam.org/>

And coming soon (well, actually not all that soon, but if you're
interested you'll want to plan well in advance for it) I'll also be
lecturing/participating in the 'FORTSCAPE' CARIBBEAN CRUISE December
10-17 2006. 'The Seminar on the Sea 2.0'

This an updated/upgraded repeat of the Fortean's highly successful 2005
maiden cruise; this time on a different liner, stopping at more (and
more desirable) sites and featuring a predictably unpredictable gamut of
speakers. Details to be posted shortly on the Fortfest website. You
may want to book soon since it's already nearly full. (Go to the
Fortfest home page for contact info.

I hope to see at least some of you who live within range of Baltimore on
the 25-26th.

Until then,

John Anthony West
