Dear JAWlist subscribers,

Listmember Dan has informed us of a phishing attempt having been perpetrated
on him in the guise of our list to get info about him...

This is the first I've heard of such a thing. As such it may be an isolated
incident, but maybe not, hence this message...

It's not our doing so it can only be as suspected... some sort of phishing
operation to get info.

The list has not stopped, however the Science News section is on temporary
hiatus as Yahoo sorts out a technical problem for Steve. Perhaps it stems
from that, although I'm really not sure as I instituted anti-spam measures a
long time ago. They are good at what they do, bad folk are...

Thank you Dan for letting us know that this happened to you, and all of you
please keep us posted as necessary. Mail us direct, though, not to the list.
